He could not go to a Secondary School because he lost his father at a tender age, as such there were no resources for him to proceed. But because he values education, he enrolled for an extra-mural classes, from where he sat for GCE and passed to qualify to study Law at then University of Sokoto, now Usman Dan Fodio University.
He once served as a member of the State of Osun House of Assembly. Today, he was screened by the Senate as President Muhammadu Buhari’s nominnee, to serve as Commissioner representing South West on the Nigerian Law Reform Commission. He is Hon. MBO Ibraheem.
His story, according to the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Judiciary and Human Rights, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, represents the resilient nature and “Can Do Spirit” of an average Nigerian. He said whatever challenges we are passing through should not hinder us from acquiring education.
To Senator Gabriel Suswan, the nominee is suitable for the task ahead: law reform, having schooled in the north, where the Penal Code is applicable and practised in the South West, where Criminal Code is applicable.
Many thanks to Senate Spokesman, SRJ and Asojorere, Hon. Olemilekan Afolabi, for making the screening a fait accompli. Many thanks to our amiable Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, for providing the right leadership.
Hon. MBO, Congratulations to you, once more, Sir. Wish you the best in your new assignment.
